GREEN-E CERTIFIES LOWER VALLEY ENERGY'S GREEN PRICING PROGRAM
LVE's Customers Can Now Sign Up for Certified Renewable Electricity
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (September 25, 2007) - The Center for Resource Solutions announced today that Lower Valley Energy (LVE)'s "Green Power" green pricing program is now Green-e certified, allowing its customers in and around Jackson, Wyoming, to green their electricity usage in a simple way. Lower Valley Energy joins the network of renewable energy providers that offer products certified by Green-e, the nation's leading certification and verification program for renewable energy.

"Green-e welcomes Lower Valley Energy to the Green-e Renewable Energy Certification Program," said Alex Pennock, Green-e associate. "Green Power is the first Green-e certified renewable electricity program offered in Wyoming and we are pleased that LVE's customers will have easy access to certified, local renewable energy through their utility."

Offered since 2003, LVE's Green Power program is sourced from wind facilities in Wyoming, predominantly the Foote Creek II Wind Project near Laramie. This use of local resources in Green Power ensures that customer participation helps the local environment, while creating greater demand for development of renewable resources. Green-e certification of Green Power shows that LVE is committed to delivering quality renewable energy to its customers.

"We are proud of the Green-e certification as, among other things, it allows our local membership to participate in national green-building programs like the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design," says LVE Communications Manager Brian Tanabe.

The Green-e program is the leading renewable energy certification and verification program in the U.S., with over 150 participating vendors who sold over five million MWhs of renewable energy in 2005. The program provides independent, third party certification to ensure certified renewable energy meets strict environmental and consumer protection standards.

Through the display and recognition of the Green-e logo, the national symbol for renewable energy excellence, a growing number of consumers are able to easily identify high quality, certified renewable energy options, as well as everyday consumer products that are produced by companies that use renewable energy in their operations.

Providers of Green-e certified renewable energy agree to abide by the Green-e Code of Conduct, and meet strict Green-e disclosure and truth-in-advertising requirements. All Green-e marketers undergo an annual verification audit to document that the company purchased and/or generated enough quantity and type of renewable energy to meet customer demand and marketing claims.
