Green-e® Outreach Analyst

Full-Time (Permanent)

Posting Date: November 23rd, 2022

Application Deadline: Ongoing (Open until filled)

Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) is 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes policy and market-based solutions to advance sustainable energy in the U.S. and internationally. CRS’s work engages stakeholders across the sustainable energy sector, including renewable electricity users, sellers, government, and other NGOs through its education, technical assistance, and policy-focused programs and outreach. CRS also administers the market-leading Green-e® programs, which offer independent environmental and consumer protection standards and certification for buyers and producers of renewable electricity, such as utility green power programs, carbon offsets and biomethane.

As the public’s awareness of the impacts of pollution arising from electricity generation, energy security issues, and sustainable economic development has risen, the demand for renewable energy has increased greatly.  Voluntary certified renewable energy sales in the U.S. have increased an average of 17% each year since 2016, and CRS’s Green-e® Certification program currently certifies over 2.5% of the total U.S. electricity mix, or enough to power four out of every five U.S. households for a month. Almost half of the installed wind capacity in the U.S. is participating in Green-e® Energy certified transactions, and 2020 saw over 6.6 million MWh come from solar generation – the amount of which has grown exponentially in just a few years.  This position is a chance to join a leading clean energy nonprofit organization and work on a program whose growth mirrors the dynamic renewable energy market.

CRS, based in the Presidio National Park in San Francisco, offers a stimulating work environment with many opportunities for collaboration. The newly renovated office operates on a hybrid schedule, providing flexibility to staff. Additionally, CRS provides comprehensive medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance.  CRS offers a 401(k) plan with discretionary matching, partial commute expense reimbursement, and professional development benefits.

The Center for Resource Solutions is seeking an Outreach Analyst to join our dynamic and collaborative team to drive outreach and growth for the organization’s Green-e® certification programs and other CRS initiatives, such as the Clean Energy Accounting Project and the Renewable Energy Markets (REM) conferences. This is a great opportunity to have an impact on the voluntary renewable electricity, carbon offset and biomethane markets.  Reporting to the Senior Manager of Program Outreach, the Outreach Analyst will contribute to achieving overall outreach goals and priorities for the Green-e® programs in order to increase participation and program impact, as well as advance the goals of other CRS initiatives.

This is a permanent, full-time position.  This position will be in-person, based at CRS’s San Francisco office where CRS is currently operating on a 3-day a week hybrid schedule, subject to the organization’s COVID-19 protocols and any applicable public health orders.

The Analyst will be a core member of the program outreach team, as well as manage specialized research projects, based on the needs of the Green-e® programs and the interest and experience of the candidate.
