PTT Wins Renewable Energy Markets™ Asia Award From Center for Resource Solutions

The U.S.-based NGO Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) presented a Renewable Energy Markets™ Asia Award to PTT—the Thailand-based energy company—for its role in promoting and expanding the use of clean, renewable energy in Asia. The awards were presented on 9 March 2021, during the virtual Renewable Energy Markets™ Asia conference.
In response to the growing demand for voluntary renewable energy purchases in Thailand, including among the industrial and business sectors, PTT launched ReAcc, a commercial-grade blockchain-based solution that facilitates renewable energy procurement. With ReAcc, PTT streamlines the challenges to multinational corporations of sourcing clean energy and energy attribute certificates. ReAcc is the first in Thailand to provide end-to-end services, and launched its first product—and first transaction— at the end of last year with a UK-based company and a local developer.
“PTT’s ReAcc is an excellent example of how utilities in Asia can help match available local renewable energy resources with large buyers,” said Jennifer Martin, executive director of Center for Resource Solutions, which presented the awards. “We are pleased to recognize PTT’s leadership and innovation in expanding the market for Thailand’s clean energy.”
