SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 17, 2012) — Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), a nonprofit dedicated to creating policy and market solutions to advance sustainable energy, announced today that renewable energy project development and finance expert Steve Krebs has joined its Board of Directors.
“Steve’s vast industry experience in getting projects built will be invaluable to us as we expand our programs and further our mission to accelerate clean energy adoption in North America and globally,” said CRS Executive Director Jennifer Martin. “We welcome him to the Board and look forward to working with him for many years to come.”
Krebs has nearly 30 years of commercial and legal experience in energy development and finance. He began his career at Baker Botts LLP, an international law firm, where he spent over 25 years. As a Senior Partner in the firm’s Houston office, Krebs headed the firm’s project development, project finance, and global projects alternative energy practices. He co-chaired WINDPOWER 2010 Conference and Exhibition, the world’s largest wind conference and the U.S.’s largest energy trade show. He currently consults on commercial and business strategy as a Vice President at OwnEnergy, a community and mid-sized wind development company based in Brooklyn, NY.
“Market-based solutions are essential for the continued penetration of clean energy in today’s economy, particularly when government’s ability to lead is challenged” says Krebs. “The Center for Resource Solutions has been a leader in designing and implementing these programs. I’m delighted to have the chance to join in CRS’s important work.”
Krebs speaks frequently on project development and finance matters, particularly in alternative energy and other energy transactions. While in private practice, he was listed in Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Project Finance Lawyers from 2001 to 2011, Chambers USA’s “America’s Leading Business Lawyers” as a “leading individual” in projects from 2003 to 2011 and as one of six leading lawyers in alternative energy from 2009 to 2011. He has also been listed in Best Lawyers since 2006 as one of the Best Lawyers in America in International Trade and Finance Law and Project Finance Law. He holds a BS from Georgia Tech and J.D. from the University of Georgia.
