The 2024 Green-e® Verification Report (2023 Data) is an annual, year-end report that aggregates reporting data from participants in the three Green-e® programs—Green-e® Climate, Green-e® Energy, and Green-e® Marketplace. The 2024 report, which was compiled from data gathered during the 2023 reporting year, highlighted significant market trends, including:
- Over 125 million retail megawatt-hours (MWh) were reported from Green-e® Energy participants, an overall increase of nearly 10% compared to 2022 sales, the highest to date
- More than half of the installed wind capacity in the U.S. is participating in Green-e® Energy certified transactions, with over 23 million MWh of sales coming from solar generation
- Approximately half of the electricity supplying certified sales and overall generating capacity came from newer facilities five years old or less
- 1.3 million retail purchasers of Green-e® certified renewable energy, including nearly 300,000 businesses and more than a million residential customers
