CRS’s 2026 Summer Associates Working Across Green-e® Verification and Outreach

At Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), developing the next generation of professionals is an important part of building the expertise and capacity needed to support a rapidly evolving clean energy landscape for years to come
Each summer, CRS welcomes a cohort of Summer Associates who work alongside our staff on meaningful projects across the organization. Rather than observing from the sidelines, these associates contribute directly to work that supports Green-e® certification programs, voluntary renewable energy market advocacy, clean energy accounting, and stakeholder engagement. Through hands-on experience, mentorship, and collaboration, they gain practical insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping today’s energy transition while helping advance CRS’s mission to create policy and market solutions to advance sustainable energy
This year’s Summer Associate cohort brings experience in energy markets, environmental research, economics, communications, and nonprofit program development—backgrounds that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of clean energy work.
Supporting the Integrity of Voluntary Renewable Energy Markets
Green-e® Verification Summer Associates Alexandra Blair and Danny Salinger-Brown are working closely with CRS’s Green-e® operations team during one of the organization’s busiest times of year: the annual Green-e® verification process. Their work supports the review and analysis of renewable energy data while contributing to research projects across the Green-e® programs. The role provides firsthand experience with renewable energy markets, environmental accounting, and the systems that help ensure credibility and transparency in voluntary renewable energy claims.
Alexandra joins CRS after working on utility energy efficiency programs at Frontier Energy in Minneapolis. She studied Environmental Studies and Race & Ethnic Studies at St. Olaf College and recently relocated from Minneapolis to San Francisco. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring beaches and hiking trails, discovering local coffee shops, and attending live shows. She is excited to deepen her experience on the renewable energy side of the energy market while contributing to the Green-e® programs this summer.
Danny brings a research background in electricity markets and energy policy. He earned degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara and most recently served as a Research Associate with Stanford University’s Program on Energy and Sustainable Development, where his work focused on electricity market pricing, global energy markets, and distributed solar and electric vehicle adoption in California. This summer, he is applying that analytical experience to support Green-e® verification and the continued growth of voluntary renewable energy markets.
Expanding Outreach and Market Engagement
Charlotte Stenmark joins CRS as the Outreach Operations Summer Associate, supporting outreach efforts that help expand participation in the Green-e® programs. Her work includes market research, customer relationship management, business development support, and outreach initiatives that connect organizations with CRS programs and resources.
Charlotte earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from American University and previously worked at the Institute for Market Transformation, where she supported sustainability policy research and program development focused on building decarbonization. Originally from Mesa, Arizona, she recently relocated to San Francisco to pursue a career in renewable energy market development. Her analytical background and nonprofit experience position her well to support Green-e® outreach while gaining experience in voluntary clean energy markets.
Learning by Contributing
The Summer Associate Program reflects CRS’s commitment to providing meaningful, hands-on experience rather than traditional internships. Associates work alongside subject matter experts, contribute to active projects, and gain exposure to the technical, policy, market, and communications work that advances clean energy markets.
As renewable energy markets continue to evolve, developing skilled professionals who understand both the technical details and broader market context becomes increasingly important. By investing in early-career talent, CRS helps strengthen the future workforce while benefiting from the fresh perspectives and expertise each associate brings to the organization.
